Vaishno College of Engineering
Vaishno College Of Engineering, Nurpur (Kangra) is a private college located at village Thapkour, P.O. Bhadroya, Teh. Nurpur, District Kangra Himachal Pradesh, India. The curriculum focuses on undergraduate engineering studies.
The college is in Himachal Pradesh, a few kilometres from the border of Jammu, and Kashmir and Punjab, states.
History
Established in 2010 as Vaishno College Of Engineering, Nurpur, in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, it is a enterprise of the Mata Vaishno Educational Society.
Courses
The college has five five academic departments:

- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
Students are admitted through their performance in the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), held every year. The academic year starts from early August and concludes in late May. The college follows the semester system and each academic year consists of an odd and an even semester, which are punctuated by a short winter vacation in late December and a longer summer vacation spanning June and July. Engineering undergraduates need to successfully complete eight semesters in order to be awarded Bachelor of Technology(B.Tech).
Admissions
B Tech
The Bachelor of Technology degree, offered since 2010, is the flagship program of the institute. Admissions to the competitive B.Tech Programs are done at the national level, on the basis of the All India level entrance test, known as the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE).
Facilities
Computer Center
The Computer Center manages computing and communication facilities throughout the campus. The backbone is fiber optic with above 500 ACTIVE devices, wi-fi, Voice over IP (VoIP) and videoconferencing. Internet connectivity totaling 47 Mbps has been leased from service providers Reliance.
Central Library
Vaishno College of Engineering library was set up in 2005. It has floor area of 1200 square meters. The library seats 200 readers in reading halls. The library follows the open access system, so that users can browse and pick up the books of their choice without hindrance.
Transport
The institute is located on the (Nurpur)Kandwal– Lodhwan - Pathankot Road.
Rail
The nearest broad gauge train head is at Pathankot (Punjab), 4 km from the campus. Pathankot is linked to all parts of India and is 10 minutes from Chaki Bank Railway Station. Bus services are available from the college campus at Thakour to Pathankot.
Air
The nearest airport is at Pathankot 5 km from campus. There is a direct air link from Delhi to Pathankot.
Road
The campus is 3 km from Chaki Bridge Pathankot on Pathankot – Lodhwan - Kandwal road. The city of Patankot and Nurpur are connected with the rest of the country by road. Pathankot is 430 km from Delhi.
