IITT college of Engineering, Kala Amb

IITT college of Engineering was the second Engineering college of the State, established in 1997 is located in Shivalik foothills (Kala Amb), District Sirmour. + The college is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) and is approved by AICTE since 1997. IITT has currently four branches- Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. The college is spread over of campus with Separate Administrative block, IT – Einstein block, Library, Applied Science Block , Mechanical Block and Hi tech lab block. Colleges under the guidance of IITT Society has emerged the pioneer in establishing good Engineering institute in the state by having advantage of location and backup of Eider group.

College Campus

IITT College of Engineering , the first Engineering College of the State, estd. 1997 is located in the serene sylvan surroundings of Shivalik foothills called Kala Amb, Dist Sirmour.

IITT College of Engineering is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and is approved by AICTE since 1997. ITT has four disciplines currently viz Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

IITT is spread in of Campus with Separate Administrative block, IT – Einstein block, Library, Applied Science Block , Mechanical Block and Hi tech Lab Block. It has Dispensary and Multi use Cafeteria cum Student Activities center apart from Girls Hostel, Faculty and Staff residences, play grounds, courts and orchards apart from a temple in the premises.

IITT College of Engineering under the aegis of IITT Society has emerged the pioneer in setting up the best Engineering institute in the state by having advantage of location. Kala Amb today is a thriving industrial hub with blue chip companies operating from here like Samsung, LG , Ajanta quartz etc.

Location

Kala Amb is located in District Sirmour and its 15 km from Nahan, 56 km from Ambala ( Haryana ), 69 km from Chandigarh via Chandigarh-Panchkula-Barwala-Raipurrani -Naraingarh-Kala Amb Road.

The district is bounded by Shimla district in the north, Uttaranchal Pradesh in the east, Yamuna Nagar district of Haryana in the south and Solan district in the north west.

The College is located on the Kala Amb Trilok pur Road which lead to Famous Trilok pur temple which is 20 km south-west of Nahan, 77-15’ north and 30’30’ east, at an elevation of about 430 m. The place is famous for its temple of renowned goddess Bala Sundri. Tfhe temple was built by Raja Dip Parkash in 1573. From the Entry Barrier of Himachal Pradesh take left on the Trilokpur Road and at 2.5 km College Entrance welcomes you.

The Climate is Pleasant throughout the year. Some world famous tourist spots located close to Kala Amb are Renuka lake, Named after sage Parshuram’s mother, Renuka Lake in Himachal Pradesh is an embodiment of peace and tranquility, Renuka Wildlife Sanctuary, Sahasradhara, , Saketi Fossil Park etc.

By Road : The college is located at 55 kilometers from Ambala Railway Station, 65 kilometers from Chandigarh, 30 kilometers form Yamuna Nagar and about 110 km from Shimla. From New Delhi it is 250 km by road via Panipat, Kurukshetra, Shahbaad Naraingarh.

By Rail : Nearest Railway station is Ambala and Chandigarh

Hostel

There are two hostels for girls namely Chandrawati, Anne Besant and one hostel for boys named Vivekanand. Each hostel is self contained with amenities such as reading room, indoor games room, lounge and dining hall and a mess.

The Warden of hostels is the incharge of the hostels . He/She is assisted by Student Team of hostel reps and mess presidents. The discipline in the hostel is looked by the proctor of the college. Hostel accommodation will be provided for all students . The students who opt to stay with their parents/guardians in the city, may be allowed to do so with the permission of the principal on the basis of a written undertaking form the parents/guardians to the fact that they will take part in all the extra-curricular activities of the college. The students are required to conform to all hostel/mess rules, which may be enforced by warden from time to time as approved by the principal. The allotted hostel accommodation may be cancelled during the vacations as and when decided by Principal.

The Girls Hostels enjoy a special privilege of having a three tier security levels and a separate campus which is well equipped to the satisfaction of boarders and it gives a special incentive to them to look ahead with this unique proposition being offered by IITT Campus.

The Mess Menu are decided by Students and are placed before everyone to contribute their ideas , both Veg and Non Veg Meals are served.

The Hostlers are provided with Following on twin sharing basis at the time of joining Study Table, Chairs, Bed, Almirah. The cushions and pillows etc are to be brought by Hostellers themselves.

Transportation – Bus facility for Students from Chandigarh , Nahan, and near by places. The College has Fleet of Buses and other modes of transport available 
Dispensary – The students need to undergo medical examination once in a year and there is regular visit of Doctor on the premises apart from a dispensary available for minor ailments for everyone on the campus including first aid. 
Drinking water – is filtered by installed aqua guards with water coolers at each point for wholesome drinking water 
Electricity –The college has steady power supply and has back up support of 150 KVa Gensets as well. 
Cyber Café – available for all students at a token charge within the campus to keep in touch with the world and their folks at home far off
