Vía Alterna (band)

Vía Alterna is a pop-rock band from Venezuela. It started early in 2007 with a small group of young teenagers with the idea of having a band. The group if formed by José Andrés Rivas, Valentina Mejías, Angelina Guitiérrez and Álvaro Martínez. The main band influencies of Via Alterna are: Kudai and RBD. Recently there were problemes in the band and was rumored the desper of Angelina Guitierrez.

Right now in the present they are recording there up coming album making the first songs meen while they are making public appenses in many festivals and local concerts in Puerto La Cruz and Lecherias.

Via Alterna of Puerto Rico

Coincidentally in Puerto Rico in the period from the mid 90's until around 2001-2002 there was a heavy rock band called Via Alterna which had a very strong following and even released a live album. Lead singer Omar now plays in the shock rock band "Las Cargas".

Origin of the name

The name comes from a main way for cars in Puerto La Cruz called Vía Alterna
