Uttam Ghoshal

Uttam Ghoshal is an innovative scientist/inventor with over 20 years of advanced research and design engineering experience in the fields of advanced processor designs, computer system cooling and energy technologies such as refrigeration and solar power generation. He has recently founded Sheetak Inc., a startup aiming to provide green and efficient refrigerators, and high-efficiency solar generators. Prior to founding Sheetak, he was the Vice President at Cypress Semiconductor Corp, responsible for the development of solar and thermoelectric power generation applications. He had founded nanoCoolers in 2002 and was the CTO of the company until its closure in 2007. Dr. Ghoshal was a Senior Research Staff Member and Master Inventor at IBM Research. He has 150+ patents and has authored more than 70 refereed publications. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department Of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley with T. Van Duzer as his advisor. He received his B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from The INDIAN Institute of Technology, Bombay.
