Background
The city of Hyderabad in A.P India has been an Islamic religious centre for many centuries, and today is the location of many Islamic schools. One such school is Darul Qira’at Al Basitia, which was founded in 1974. Darul Qira’at Al-Basitia is an institution where the Qur’anic teachings are imparted without any fee. The founder of the school, Ustazul qurra Hazarat Moulana Qari Mohammed Ali Khan Saheb B.Sc. (osm) (Saudi Awarded) founded the school with the aim that the Qur’aan should be taught on traditional Islamic lines, enjoined by Allah and practiced by the prophet Mohammed Mustafa SAWS. For 1999 to 2004, six different pupils of this school have represented India in World Quranic competitions held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In the year 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 puplis of this institution have represented India in the world Quranic competiton held in Tehran, Iran. In the year 2005, 2006, and 2007 pupils of this institution has represented their country in the competition held in Tripoli, Libya. In the year 2007, 2008 and 2009 pupils of this Institution have represented their country in the competition held in Amman, Jordan.
These figures relate to the last few years, A number of students have represented in various competitions in the past also. Usually in the National competition, which are held in various states of Indian Union such as Delhi, Tamilnadu, (Chennai) Kerala, (Calicut) Karnataka, (Bangalore) Andhra Pradesh, (Hyderabad) Madhya Pradesh, (Bhopal) & Maharashtra, (Mumbai) The students of this institution are awarded first of second prizes in Memorazation Recitation and Azan it is the wish of Ustazul Qurra that where ever the cal is given from any Mosque (The Azan) it should be correct and in attractive voice and manner. The man who leads the prayer should be well versed in recitation (Muqri). When one is teaching Qura’an one should be expert in his field. Apart from this every one should recite and read Qura’an correctly according to the rules of recitation (Tajweed). Numerous thanks to Allah that He blessed him in his selfless efforts, that more than fifty thousand students have benefited from this school “Shukran Katheeran Katheerah” In order to inculcate a true love and passion toward Qura’an in common men and women and to spur and revive this passion in those who have already been in this field, competition in Quran-e-Kareen were initiated, under the guidance of Ustazul Qurra, at Darul Qira’at Al Basitia. Competitions were held successfully in the year 2003, 2004,2005 ( National Level) and 2007 (International Level) Which more good results. Many a men have decided to send their Children for Hifz (Memorization) Tajweed and related fields. It also helped those to re enter, who initially enter in to this field but were drifted in order to gain mastery in the field. Muazzineen also has the unusual ability of being able to give the Adhan call to prayer in a native Arabic accent.
