Urban Geometrics
Urban Geometrics is an original high school level marching band halftime show, composed by Jair Klarfeld. The show consists of three movements: Traffic, Sidewalks, and Skyscrapers. The Urban Geometrics show has been performed by many high schools throughout the country. It is one of Jair Klarfeld's three original marching shows.
Traffic
Traffic is the first movement of Urban Geometrics. Like its name implies, it is very busy. It starts off relatively relaxed, then gradually picks up. It can be described as a summary of what's to come in the second and third movements. The front ensemble starts off the piece, and it ends with full band.
Sidewalks
Sidewalks is the second movement of Urban Geometrics. It is unlike the first movement in the sense that it is carried mainly by a dynamic increase, the gradual decrease. A climb to the peak, then a roll down the other side. It begins and ends with front ensemble.
Skyscrapers
Skyscrapers is the third and final movement of Urban Geometrics. It begins and ends strong. It involves many instrument solos from various sections, and is longer and more complex than Traffic and Sidewalks, which can be observed from the name Skyscrapers, in comparison to the first and second movements. It begins with front ensemble and ends with full band.
