U-phonix

U-phonix is a television news music package composed by Stephen Arnold. U-phonix contains over 14 themes and 630. U-phonix was composed in 2003 for Dallas, Texas CBS affiliate KTVT11 and is currently used on television stations in 16 markets.

The package's signature contains a similar signature to Arnold's Sinclair News Music Package.

KWQC used this package for less than 2 months, which is the shortest time for a station to have a syndicated news music package. It originally used "Hello News" from 1990-2007, and went back to using Hello News on September 24th of 2007.

The name for U-phonix is derived from the large-format audio mixing board manufacturer Euphonics.
In 2007 -- after the episode with SESAC that required stations to pay higher fees to SESAC (and not Stephen Arnold Music) -- the Sinclair Broadcast Group dropped the Sinclair News Music Package for a non-SESAC published theme called "Daily News" from Gari Communications. As a result, Stephen Arnold Music moved 4 of the Sinclair themes into U-Phonix. The entire package was not absorbed, and not all cuts (edits and mixouts) were included either.
