Season 1
The Player
Trent(a very sexy guy) is introduced as the bartender at Boston's hottest club, Colony. He is also a handsome ladies man, making and breaking girls hearts. His boss, Lee, introduces him to Dawn Vargaz, who is going to attend Charles University. He also becomes fast friends with Samantha Best when she gets a job there.
Being Nice... or Something More?
When Sam pawns her mother's ring to buy a dress for one night, she plans to get it right back by returning the dress the next day. But the tag is ripped off of the dress, and Sam thinks that her chance of getting the ring back is lost. But Trent gives it back to her, revealing that he bought it to make sure no one else would.
Dawn's Attraction
When Dawn develops feelings for Trent, she tries to impress him by dressing hot and going to Colony. But Trent seems uninterested. During Sam's birthday, however, it seems that they are going to go all the way. But Dawn reveals that she is a virgin, and Trent backs down, saying that he can't do it.
His True Feelings
Dawn refuses to give up on Trent. She uses her raw feeling to deliver a stunning performance in the school play, and both Sam and Trent are impressed. But when Dawn tries to win him back, Trent says that he only wanted her for [...]. Hurt, Dawn prepares to leave, but Sam, who is furious at Trent, says that she will go talk to him. But Trent reveals his true feelings to her, and kisses her. Dawn walks in, ends her friendships with both Sam and Trent, and leaves.
Samantha's Anger
Sam, hurt by Dawn's cold shouldering and furious at Trent for kissing her, ignores Trent at work and school. She announces that she's going to quit Colony, because "my co-worker isn't giving me any other choice". But that night, Colony is robbed. Trent tries to stop the robbers, but is hit so hard he gets a concussion. He and Sam are forced into the backroom, where they mend their friendship. They are rescued by Noah and Devon. Later, Trent discovers that Sam dumped Devon due to a rude message he left her (he thought that Sam and Trent were having [...]).
A Little Problem
Trent and Sam seem to be on the road to a relationship, when Sam discovers a disturbing secret: Trent uses [...]. Trent confirms this later, saying that sometimes he needs to unwind. The next day, Trent and Sam dine at Trent's parents' house, where his parents blatantly insult Trent and his lack of ambition and a career. Trent gets angry and storms out, uses some coke, and heads to Colony to party. Sam gets fed up with this, saying to Trent "You make me sick." But when Alicia overdoses, it serves as a wake-up call. The next day, Trent goes to Sam's dorm room, saying that she was right and that she gets him. "That's why I need you in my life."
