Tradewater Pirates

The Tradewater Pirates are a summer collegiate baseball team based in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. The team, a member of the KIT League plays its home games in Riverside Park, a reconstruction of a stadium used by professional teams in the early 1900s for spring training.

History

The Tradewater Pirates' inaugural season was in 1999. The team has earned berths in the NBC World Series in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006. The team joined the KIT League in 2007, where it finished in fourth place. http://www.hopkinscounty.us/dawsonsprings/tp/Lists/Pirate%20Milestones/AllItems.aspx]

The team was the KIT League Champions for the 2008 season with an impressive .700 record in 50 games, finishing five games ahead of the Fulton Railroaders who had a record of 29-20 (.591).

In 2007, four players from the Tradewater Pirates were selected for the KIT League all-star team to play against the Central Illinois Collegiate League's all-star team. Those players were: Matt Toffaletti, Logan Neal, Brandon Robinette, and Hunter Nolen.

Six players from the Tradewater Pirates were selected for the KIT League 2008 all-star team, more than any other team in the league. Those players were: Justin Long, George Hebert, Don Pugliese, Eric Faint, Nathan Wright, and Matt Kulbacki.1
