Tormar Associates

Tormar Associates is a joint family office based in Stamford, Connecticut. It was founded in 2003 by Ronald Marks and John Tormondsen, both former partners at Goldman Sachs.
John Tormondsen formerly served as head of swap and government bond trading at Goldman Sachs. As head of trading, Mr. Tormondsen oversaw operations during a time when Goldman Sachs was one of five firms conducting nearly half of the daily trading in United States bonds. Mr. Tormondsen also served on the U.S. Treasury Department Borrowing Advisory Committee of the Public Securities Association, now known as the Bond Market Association. After 17 years with Goldman Sachs, he retired in 2002.
Ron Marks worked at Goldman Sachs for 16 years, where he was the European partner in charge of interest rate swaps, money markets, government bonds, foreign exchange and global emerging markets, trading out of London. founded by billionaire Bruce Kovner.
Mr. Marks serves on the board of directors of the Tim and Tom Gullikson foundation, which assists brain tumor patients and their families, and on the Middlebury College Arts Council. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles.<ref name="UCLA" />
