Tirthankar nag

Tirthankar Nag (born 1973) holds a doctorate from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Owing to his vast experience in the corporate and academic field, he has had many international and national research projects to his credit.He has been serving as a Professor and Dean (Research and International Relations) at International Management Institute Kolkata since March, 2010. Apart from his academic career, he has AbOUT more than 20 years of experience in Management Consulting, Research, Utilities and Investment Banking. He has authored a number of papers in collaboration with Stanford University, has been a part of peer reviewing committees for many international journals, has published a book and worked on several book chapters as well.

Early Education

Tirthankar Nag pursued his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Jadavpur University (1996), Kolkata. Further, he completed his Fellow Programme in 2005 from IIM Ahmedabad by submitting his Doctoral Thesis on 'Implications of Electricity Reforms on Technology and environment'. Since then, he has been actively conducting several research projects in the Power, Energy, Electricity and Infrastructure sectors.

Career

As a professor at IMI Kolkata, Nag specialises in teaching strategic management, research methods, managing consulting engagements and developing infrastructure businesses. He has been the Dean of Research and International Relations at International Management Institute since 2010. He has a vast professional history as an academician as well as a manager and advisor in the corporate sector. He has worked with KPMG, SBI Capital Markets Ltd., PWC and CESC. He has also worked on a joint project with Stanford University as a fellow of IIM Ahmedabad. Tirthankar Nag has been instrumental in guiding and examining doctoral candidates. He has also played the role of a mentor in guiding entrepreneurs at CIIE (Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship), IIM Ahmedabad.
