Thrive (video game)

Thrive is a free, open-source game currently being developed by an online volunteer team called Revolutionary Games. Drawing inspiration from numerous simulation and strategy games (in particular the original concept behind the PC game Spore), Thrive is a game AbOUT a species’ evolution from unicellular organisms to galaxy-wide space travel.

Development

Since Thrive is an open-source, fan-made video game, it has no offical release date. However, the publication of a "polished" Microbe stage is scheduled to be in the first quarter of 2016.

Concept

Thrive retakes Spore's concept of a multi-stage real-time simulation, role-playing games (RPG) and action game. It is aiming to fill the scientific flaws Spore originally had, add more complexity to the game while fulfilling some fans' requests.
