Thomas D. Zweifel
Thomas D. Zweifel (born 7 January 1962 in Paris) is a Swiss and U.S. management consultant, author and university professor.
Career
Thomas D. Zweifel grew up in Basel as son of a Protestant father and a Jewish mother. From 1985 through 1997 he worked for the international nongovernmental organization The Hunger Project. He was responsible for the profitability of 27 Global Affiliates. Given that each Affiliate reported to its own board of directors and national fiduciary authorities, Zweifel did not have the legal authority to manage by command or control.
In 1996 Zweifel earned a Master's Degree from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University in New York City. In 2001 he received a Ph.D. in International Political Economy from New York University with a dissertation on the democratic deficits of the European Union, particularly in the regulation of corporate mergers.
Zweifel developed several leadership theories. In 1997 he was a co-founder and CEO of 'Swiss Consulting Group, a management consultancy he sold in 2013. Since then he has worked as an independent consultant for strategy alignment and execution.
Since 2001 Zweifel has taught leadership as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University und since 2004 as lecturer at St. Gallen University. As a keynote speaker, he belongs to various speaker bureaus in Europe und the United States.
He spoke at TEDxZurich in 2011 on the topic of ‘Leading through Language’.
