Theodore Bean

Ven. Canon Theodore William Bean (born February 15, 1949) is an American-born Anglican clergyman. He has served as archdeacon of suburban Nassau County, New York in the Diocese of Long Island since 2004. In 2005 he was appointed Provost and Residentiary Canon of the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, New York. He has also enjoyed an extensive career in hospital pastoral care ministries and administration including service at New York's Bellevue Hospital Center from 1975-1977 and again from 1985-1989.

Born in Decatur, Illinois, he earned degrees from the University of Illinois and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary. His ordinations to the diaconate (1974) and the priesthood (1975) were in the Diocese of Quincy, Illinois. He served several curacies, rectorships, and twice as a regional dean before assuming his present diocesan responsibilities.
