The Washington, Jefferson & Madison Institute
The Washington, Jefferson & Madison Institute is a non-profit Virginia corporation based in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Institute's charter is “To Perpetuate the Study of the Teachings and Examples of the Founders of the Republic” and its mission is to “To instill within educators and students of the rising generation a greater understanding of and appreciation for the Founding Fathers and the Founding Documents of the United States of America.” The Washington, Jefferson & Madison Institute holds seminars for high school teachers who teach U.S. Government, Civics, and U.S. History. Publications
The Washington, Jefferson and Madison Institute published “Thomas Jefferson & James Madison’s Guide to Understanding and Teaching the Constitution” in 2009. The Guide is intended to assist teachers, students, parents, and citizens in understanding and appreciating the Constitution of the United States of America. It is designed as a handbook for studying the Constitution in the tradition of the founders, using the source documents and writings identified by them at the founding of the University of Virginia as the "best guides" to its principles and meaning.
