The Titanic Players
The Titanic Players is an American improvisational theatre group with presence on eight university campuses: Columbia College Chicago, Depaul University, Northwestern University, University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, University of Minnesota, University of Wisconsin- Madison, and University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. Established in 1994, they describe themselves as "the largest collegiate improvisation organization in the country" and "the only collegiate improvisation organization to cross university and state lines."
About
The Titanic players "perform various kinds of performances including improvised, scripted, broadcast, and filmed."
All members of Titanic receive training in the art of long form improvisation. Titanic's "signature training and performance piece is the Expansion Tree."
Accomplishments
- Members have continued successful careers at television networks CBS, NBC, and FOX as well as on the TV programs Community, The Office, Reno 911!, Arrested Development, and Saturday Night Live.
- Members have continued successful improv careers at Annoyance Theater, ComedySportz, ImprovBoston, The Magnet Theater, Upright Citizen's Brigade, iO, and The Second City.
- 21 Members of our Training Program have gone on to perform on teams at iO
- 2009 College Improv Tournament, 1st Place
- 2007 College Improv Tournament, 1st Place Trophy
- 3 Members have gone on to perform on the Second City Mainstage
