The Jockey is a fictional location on the Channel 4 series Shameless.

History

The Jockey is the local pub, on the Chatsworth Estate, and is where a lot of the scenes on the show take place. It's Landland is Jez, and the staff are Ian Gallagher, Karen Jackson and Jamie Maguire, and while Jez is on maternity leave Carol is covering for her as relief manager.

Filming Location

The exterior shots are of a real pub named The Wellington Inn which is located in West Gorton, located on the corner of Clowes Street and Wenlock Way. Also in close proximity are other landmarks including Yvonne's shop and the Gallagher household.

As from series 5 there has been a purpose built set for the show on the Roundthorn Industrial Estate in South Manchester.
