Thae Su Nyein (model)

Thae Su Nyein (သဲစုညိမ်း; born 25 May 2007) is a Burmese model and beauty pageant titleholder. She represented Myanmar at Miss Grand International 2024, where she was initially announced as the second runner-up before her title was later revoked by the Miss Grand International Organization. The controversy received international media coverage. In 2026, Vietnamese media outlets reported that she had been selected to represent Myanmar at Miss Cosmo 2026.

Early life

Thae Su Nyein was born on 25 May 2007 in Taungoo, Bago Region, Myanmar.

Miss Grand Taungoo 2024

On 21 June 2024, the Miss Grand Bago 2024 pageant was held at the Yangon Convention Center, selecting winners from five townships of Bago Region. Thae Su Nyein was crowned Miss Grand Taungoo 2024 and went on to represent Taungoo at Miss Grand Myanmar 2024.

Miss Grand Myanmar 2024

Thae Su Nyein competed in the Miss Grand Myanmar 2024 pageant and won the national title. Representing her country, she successfully claimed the national title, earning the right to represent Myanmar at Miss Grand International 2024.

Miss Grand International 2024

Thae Su Nyein represented Myanmar at Miss Grand International 2024. During the coronation night, she was announced as the second runner-up, but her title was later revoked by the organization.

According to Hindustan Times, she later publicly expressed disappointment with the result and stated that she believed she deserved the crown. The pageant president responded to her remarks in subsequent interviews.

On 28 October 2024, the Miss Grand International Organization officially revoked her second runner-up title, citing violations of pageant rules and inappropriate behavior.

Miss Cosmo 2026

In February 2026, several Vietnamese media outlets reported that Thae Su Nyein had been appointed as Myanmar’s representative for Miss Cosmo 2026.
