Teatrality
Teatrality (Russian театралити) is a genre and form of interaction of theatrical and television arts, formed by connecting together the words "theater" and "reality". It was opened in October 2009 by Mikhail Barsegov, a graduate of St. Petersburg State Academy of Dramatic Arts in drama.
The idea of the format, received in 2009 via the name "theatrality", was worked out by playwright and director Ruslan Malikov and theatrical critic and producer Mikhail Barsegov in 2004 in the form of a interactive television-theater script project.
According to the authors, theatrality is an innovative model of interaction of the usual forms of social entertainment: theater and Internet television. Previously known forms of such interactions were limited to television talking about the theater (the program "Theater and TV" by Kathy Ufimtseva and its analogs), or showing a theatrical broadcast channel.
Teatrality is an interactive theater program for Internet television, which shows the reality behind the scenes drama of a single theater in which viewers can participate in the process of creating a new play, and some may even become its co-producer.
For 3 months throughout the theater installed 16 security cameras with remote control and microphone. Their focus appear hidden from ordinary viewers who eye life theater.
The first broadcast "Teatrality" will start in the 2009/2010 season, in the backstage of a theater in St. Petersburg.
