Taylor Fowlis
Taylor Fowlis (born 4 June 1998), is a British singer and songwriter. She is best known for her collaborations with ts7 on the garage track Heartlight (Polygon) and with Sigma on the drum and bass track "Summer Calling".
Early life and education
Fowlis was born and raised in Liverpool. Fowlis is of mixed heritage She has been ACTIVE as a singer since the age of 12 when she begun singing in local talent contests and was approached in 2011 to participate in Britian's Got Talent.
Fowlis was discovered by her management company 2-Tone Entertainment in Liverpool after performing at the MOBO unsigned showcase in 2012. 2-Tone Entertainment agreed a deal with Atlantic Records for the singer in July 2014.
Music career
2012–present
Having spent a number of years performing across Liverpool and uploading cover versions of songs online, Fowlis aged 12 was put forward for the Britan's Got Talent Show by her aunt in 2011. She was hotly tipped as the future winner, but left the show before the finals.
In December 2012, Following a performance at the MOBO Unsigned Showcase in Liverpool, Talent Management company 2-Tone Entertainment signed Taylor on a long term deal.
In April 2013, she co-wrote and featured on Garage producer ts7's single Heartlight (Polygon). After mass BBC Radio 1Xtra playlist support The single was released on 17 February 2013 and went on to become a dj favourite.
The acoustic version was posted online, with Fowlis doing a live version on BBC 1Xtra.
In August 2013 she appeared on the track "Summer Calling" with future chart topping duo Sigma . The song was released on beatport and featured a remix by drum and bass producer Tantrum Desire.
Taylor was named in the top 13 new acts from Liverpool to watch out for in 2014 by NME. She was also listed in the Liverpool Echo as one to watch by Journalist Peter Guy.
Fowlis has also performed at Liverpool Sound City and The Liverpool International Music Festival.
