Eylem Kızıl
Eylem Kızıl (born 5 September 1984 in London, United Kingdom) to Turkish-Cypriot parents, is a British Cypriot singer. She is popular in Turkey, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and other countries in the Turkish diaspora.
Recognition
She started her vocal training in “Vocal Tech” school and went on stage at the BTEC National Diploma Performing Arts school for two years. She was a part of the girl band “Steamy Knights” and appeared on a worldwide McDonalds ad campaign. Eylem was first recognised in her auditions in the British television music talent show The X Factor. She was one of the 50 people who made it through to the "boot camp" out of 50,000 people however she did not manage to go through to the finals. She was in music videos for artists like The Streets and Appleton Sisters. Rise in Turkey
Her first album in Turkish, "Aman" was released in 2006 and the title song became a huge hit. The records went on to sell more than 100.000 copies, achieving a gold certificate in Turkey. Four more videos for the album were produced.
The second album, "Bir Sonraki / Next" was released in 2008. The first video "Güle Güle" was bilingual and was a loose adaptation of the Little Red Riding Hood. The second single "Hayat" became as popular after its release. After this era Eylem's YouTube videos were clicked more than 15 million times.
Present
Eylem is in final stages of the preparations for a single release before her third album. The single is expected to be out before autumn.
