Swissôtel Merchant Court

Officially opened on 28 November 1997 as Merchant Court Hotel, the 476 room hotel was rebranded to Swissôtel Merchant Court, Singapore in December 2001. It was opened in 1997 by Mr Yeo Cheow Tong, Minister for Health and Minister for Environment.

The hotel is part of the global Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, which is part of Fairmont Raffles Hotels International.

LaSalle Asia Opportunity II purchased the hotel in 2006 from Fairmont Raffles Hotels International (owned by Kingdom Hotels International and Colony Capital), which had in turn acquired it as part of the entire hotel business of Raffles Holdings in 2005. Refer to Notes 1

In November 2009, the hotel was sold to TA Enterprise for S$260 million.

EVENTS

Presented "The Longest Peranakan Buffet on Read Bridge" in conjunction with Singapore Tourism Board's Singapore Food Festival in July 2009.


OTHERS

The hotel was awarded the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certification from the Singapore Accreditation Council for excellence in food safety in March 2009.
