Superhero and supervillain hideouts and bases
This is a list of hideouts, bases, and heaquarters for superheroes and super villains.
- Oily Rocks - abandoned Soviet drilling platform off the coast of Azerbaijan.
- Fortress of Solitude - (Superman's secret lair) Created by a Kryptonian Relic called the Eradicator, the Fortress was a monument to Krypton on Earth. All of the items filling the Fortress were gathered from the otherworldly dimension known as the Phantom Zone (AOS #460).
- Batcave - Batman's secret base of operations. Located under Wayne Manor and / or in the basement of the Wayne Foundation building. Contains a crime laboratory, computers and records, a host of weapons and space for the cars. situated underneath his residence, Wayne Manor.
- Mount Weather - secret military base inside a mountain near the rural town of Bluemont, Virginia.
- White Sulpher Springs - Built beneath the West Virginia Wing on the Greenbriar Resort between 1959 and 1962. An abandoned 112,000 square foot (10,000 m²) nuclear fall-out shelter. Steel and concrete blast doors weighing 25 tons seal the bunker.
- NEEMO - NASA's sixth Extreme Environment Mission Operations program. An 82-ton yellow steel structure, anchored beneath the sea off Key Largo, south of Miami. The pressurized habitat, owned by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration allows humans to work in the ocean almost indefinitely.
- Titans Tower, hideout, local hangout, and residence of the Teen Titans, in the animated series and comics.
- The Hall of Justice, headquarters of the Superfriends on the TV animated series.
- Paradise Island, home to Wonder Woman and a race of Amazons.
- Avengers Mansion, home of The Avengers, and permanently staffed by Jarvis, the butler.
- Latveria, the fictional country ruled by Doctor Doom.
- Greenwich Village in New York City contains a mansion owned by Doctor Strange.
- Xavier Mansion / School for Gifted Youngsters - located at 1407 Graymalkin Lane in the town of Salem Center in New York State's Westchester County. Owned by Charles Xavier, aka Professor X, Xavier Mansion is the headquarters and training camp for both the X-men and New Mutants. It contains two sub-basements which house the "Danger Room," laboratories, and an underground rail system that connects to the hanger facilities.
