Super Mal

SUPER Mal are electro house producers and DJs.

Formed in 2006 by Bandito owners Lyndon Coyne and J Crompton, Super Mal take their influence from old skool house, hip hop, rock and electro. Their artist name was inspired by the French cult film La Haine, referencing the expression “super cool”, but with a twist.

Support for Super Mal music has come from the likes of Pete Tong, Trophy Twins, Steve Smart, Andi Durrant, Annie Mac, Huggy, Judge Jules, Groove Armada and Bob Sinclar. DJ Magazine described Super Mal as sounding "like the early street sounds electro — soul and funk inspired but done with synthesisers. Coming back 20 odd years later, with the production values to make them sound really tight!”

The first release on Bandito Records was “Bigger Bigger”, a cool slice of Electro pop snapped up by the Eye Industries label and given the major label treatment. It was called Bigger Than Big and released with a punk vocal from Luciana. The record made the UK top 20, helped with a video filmed by Mike Baldwin (Red Rabbit productions) in down town Los Angeles.

Super Mal have been signed up internationally with releases in Japan, America, Italy, Sweden and are released via the Ministry of Sound label in Australia. They DJ'd at the Glastonbury festival this summer at the Ministry of Sound & Renaissance.

Super Mal had their first hit with Luciana with Bigger Than Big which reached #19 in the UK top 40.

Super Mal have written another track with Luciana which will appear on her album.
