SPO:)

SPO:) is a Lithuanian sports magazine owned by media conglomerate UAB „MKG“.

History

From its start, SPO:) is the first and currently only magazine about sports in Lithuania. Its first issue came out in January of 2005.

Innovations

From its start, SPO:) introduced a number of innovations that are generally taken for granted today:

• Liberal use of color photos
• Scouting reports - including a NBA and Euroleague Previews
• In-depth sports reporting from writers like Tadas Trinkūnas and Nerijus Kesminas
• Posters can be found in the center of the magazine

Regular segments

AJK TU SPO:) A section on the latest and/or top news in sports.

Tema The main feature in the magazine which is about a person, team, or season preview.

SPO:) Garažas A feature which looks at the best cars.

Žvilgsnis (sports vary from issue to issue) has writers from each sport address the latest news and rumors in their respective fields.

Karštukai A back-page column featuring newest products for sports and winners of various prizes.

Sportsman of the Month

Since its inception in 2005, SPO:) magazine has annually presented the Sportsman of the Month award to "the Lithuanian athlete whose performance that month most embodies the spirit of sportsmanship and achievement."
