Spiritual Book Club
A spiritual book club is a group of people who read books AbOUT the spiritual journey, then convene, either on-line or in person to talk about the insights they have gotten from the reading. Spirituality is defined as how a person lives out what she or he believes. A spiritual book club can be related to a specific religious tradition, but does not need to be confined to that one tradition. For instance, a spiritual book club could read spiritual books from just one tradition, like the Christian tradition, or the spiritual book club could read across a variety of traditions, from Sufi poet Jelaluddin Rumi, from Christian mystic Thomas Merton, and from Buddhist contemplative Thich Nhat Hahn for example. A spiritual book club gathers to learn more about the spiritual path, how to go deeper along that path, and what roads lead to that deeper travel.
