The Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) is one of the most prominent trade associations of India. The organisation represents the interests of soybean processors, farmers, exporters and brokers in India, and acts as an interface between industry, government and other relevant stakeholders on policy issues and initiatives. It is authorized by the Government of India to issue Certificates of Origin for the products of exports and also authorized to issue recommendations for visas. SOPA has R&D center for soybean and soybean products. It also helps in export promotion by providing the latest information from international and national markets. SOPA also publishes a monthly journal, SOPA Digest, to disseminate the information AbOUT research, agricultural news and economic reviews on soy industry.

As Indian soybean exports have dropped dramatically from 4.484 million tonnes in 2013 to 250,000 tonnes in 2016, SOPA's chairman, Davish Jain, blames increasing imports of soybean products as The Primary cause; he and SOPA allege that this has led to the RUiN of farmers' livelihoods as prices drop, as well as posing a potential risk to India's economic prosperity. However, others blame drought for the decline in soybean production.
