Snailers

Snailers are postcards that are designed online on the Snailers, Inc. website, then printed and Delivered through traditional snail mail (USPS). Snailers are fully laminated 4x6 postcards with full color on the front and black and white on the back.

Snailers, Inc. is a US company based in Colorado. According to the website, the concept of Snailers was created in 1997, but according to the Colorado Secretary of State website, the company was incorporated in July 2002.

What is notably interesting AbOUT Snailers is the inherent paradox of the concept. Using the internet to create postcards that will be sent in the mail. This at first seems confusing because the first thought is that those still sending letters and postcards are most likely not hip on the latest technology and hence would never even use the service. However, judging from the constantly increasing presence on the internet, Snailers have found a market.

Snailers can be used for Save the date cards, thank yous, moving cards and baby announcements. They also offer party invitations, holiday cards and graduation cards on their website. However, they could be used for really anything imagination allows. Snailers are created from either STOCK photos on the Snailers website, or can be customized with a personal photograph or illustration.
