SmartRecruiters

SmartRecruiters is an American Software company founded in 2010 by Jérôme Ternynck. The company develops talent acquisition software used by employers to manage hiring processes.

The company was acquired by German software corporation SAP in August 2025 to replace the recruiting module in its SuccessFactors Human Capital Management suite.

History

SmartRecruiters was founded by Jerome Ternynck in 2010. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

In 2016, the company had 700 customers, including Square, Atlassian and Equinox gyms.

In January 2017, SmartRecruiters acquired the German data science company Jobspotting GmbH, a job recommendation engine, for an undisclosed sum.

Rebecca Carr was named the Chief Executive Officer in 2024.

In August 2025, German software company SAP acquired SmartRecruiters.

Platform

The SmartRecruiters platform is a suite of cloud-based tools for managing the hiring process. It provides applicant tracking, recruitment tools, candidate relationship management, and analytics.

Hiring managers can manage job requests, communicate with candidates, and schedule interviews.
