Six10repeater

six10repeater are a British indie rock band that were formed in Manchester, UK in 2006 by Stuart Armstrong and Stuart Miller, and currently comprise of Stuart Armstrong (Lead Singer/Guitarist), Daniel Baybutt (Bass) and Christopher Tweedie (Drums).

The band's first 3-track E.P., 'Tradiola' (2006), was written and performed entirely by Armstrong with exception of the lead track 'From Grace' which was written and performed by Armstrong and Miller.

Following the recording of this E.P., Baybutt and Tweedie were auditioned and recruited; allowing six10 to make the transition in to a full-blown live band.

Six10repeater recently achieved worldwide recognition when game giants Konami bought the rights to two of the band's songs, 'Today Somehow' and 'Hearts and Nails', for inclusion on the soundtrack to the computer game Pro Evolution Soccer 2009. Both of these tracks originally formed part the band's 3-track E.P. Hearts & Nails (2007), which was written by Armstrong and Miller.

Six10repeater also won Manchester-based radio station XFM's unsigned band of the month in March 2008.

Miller left the group at the turn of 2008 to concentrate on his career. He continues to work with other artists, song-write, and teach guitar in his spare time.

Now a powerful and dynamic three-piece, the band are actively writing, recording and touring, and although currently unsigned, are managed by OCW Management.

Plans are in place to release a single, 'Two Lovers', in the first quarter of 2009, after recent recording sessions with acclaimed producer Christophe at Manchester's Oxygene Studios.

Citing their influences as such acts as The Cure, Foo Fighters, Nirvana and Queens of The Stone Age, the band have supported Babyshambles and shared concert bills with other Manchester-based artists such as Northern Uproar and fellow musicians and personal friends, Kid British.

They have also made numerous TV and radio appearances.

With regards to the origin of the band's interesting name, Armstrong has previously stated that he believed it to be trade slang for a road sign consisting of a white arrow "pointing the way forward".

Armstrong currently lives in Manchester, UK. With Tweedie and Baybutt residing in Blackpool and Preston, respectively.
