Sikder Medical Football Club

Sikder Medical Football Team is a team based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was founded in 2004 under ZH Sikder. It has been growing ever since With It being eligible for the Bangladesh Football Federation. They have consistently been making semi-finals of the Gulshan Tournament and the ZH Sikder Tournament. They also help charities with their numerous programs. They also annually host a Dhaka city area tournament.

History

Early Years

In 2004 the club was founded by Jeffrey Sikder and ZH Sikder. Many players were recruited during this time many of them young. The first coach for the club was Mosharraf Sir who was a former player of Bangladesh. For the club the Millennium School Stadium stadium had to go through intense renovation with seating, floodlights, and training facilities equipped. The team entered many tournaments during this time winning few however consistently making semi-finals of many tournaments despite their amateur experience. Within a year the Sikder Medical Team became more consistent and bought more experienced players.

Prominence (2005-2007)

During these years he club achieved great heights and gaining popularity throughout the Dhaka area. The team also identified crucial players in their squad; players like Jeffrey Sikder, Shoreef, Polash, and Sean Sikder, and Salman. The club had beat a few of the most toughest teams in Bangladesh and they even achieved heights of reaching the final in the Gulshan Tournament where they had been beaten by a slim margin of 1-0. However they won numerous ZH Sikder Tournaments, even one final in particular where the A and B team went to the final. During this period they evolved into an elite team in Bangladesh.

Current (2008-Present)

During this time the Sikder Medical Football team's main focus was to win the Gulshan tournament to gain eligibility into the Bangladesh Football Federation. In the next two years the club won one ZH Sikder tournament but failed to win the Gulshan Tournament. However As of 2009 The Sikder Medical Team finally gained eligibility in the Bangladesh Football Federation.

Stadium

Throughout its history Sikder FC always played in the MISC Stadium however renovating it numerous times in order for it to expand seating and to equip with more common amenities. As of 2008 the stadium included Sky Boxes which are offered for spectators. However there are rumors surfacing that the club might build a new full sized pitch close by to the MISC Stadium.

Club Colors & Support

Throughout the club's history they have worn a red and blue home kit that resembles Barcelona's home kit and also their traditional away kit is solid blue and their third kit usually consists of red and black shorts. However this has varied and the club rarely played with any other colors.

They are usually supported by people in the Dhanmondi area and largely by students that are enrolled in Jeffrey's Institute of Health, Science, and Technology and students from Mandy's Dental College.

ZH SIkder Medical Tournament

In 2005 ZH Sikder founded the ZH Sikder tournament which is based in Dhaka and teams around the Dhaka area take part in the tournament. Every year the final takes place in the MISC Stadium with the winner receiving 20,000 Taka. Also the winner gets a magnificent celebration with fireworks going off and famed musicians come to play annually as part of the celebration. Sikder FC has won the most Zh Sikder Tournaments.

Charity

Sikder FC started since 2005 numerous charities and has played many fundraising games in order to help the poor in Bangladesh. Also they have many programs that help the kids play even on the MISC Stadium field.
