Sigma Phi Theta
Sigma Phi Theta (Greek Letters: ΣΦΘ) is a local social fraternity at Texas Lutheran University chartered in 1984. According to its charter, Sigma Phi Theta was "chartered on the principle that no one individual should be denied the chance to share the brotherhood of a fraternity."1 The members of Sigma Phi Theta, known at Texas Lutheran as "the Thetas", concern themselves with their academic achievement and the individuality of each member.2 The fraternity has been restarted, or "resurrected", several times, most recently in the 2004-2005 academic year. Since then, Sigma Phi Theta has steadily added new members while staying true to its charter. The fraternity is also known for its philanthropy work, helping renovate Texas Lutheran's Center for Servant Leadership and raising funds for the San Antonio AIDS Foundation.
