Biography
Shinzo Machida is the older brother of UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida. He is a Shotokan Karate Black Belt and Shotokan Karate Vice Champion (Australia 2006). He lost in the final to number-one ranked Shotokan master Koji Ogata. He once fought in a karate tournament against his younger brother Lyoto Machida in 1998 where he received a scar on his cheek which remains to this day. However, he has yet to replicate the success of his younger brother in professional MMA.
Professional MMA
He made his debut against Christian Rossi on May 21, 2005. He won at round 1 at 1:40 of the first round by TKO (soccer kicks and knees to the head of a downed opponent). He had his second fight against Brian Rafiq on April 29, 2006 to whom he lost to via guillatine choke at :56 of round number 2. He has not fought in professional mma since that day.
