Semantics3 is a data company that provides API-based access to ecommerce product data based in San Francisco, California. Semantics3 provides retailers, logistics companies, and third-party ecommerce service access to standardized product data, most often via UPC Lookups.

History

Semantics3 Inc. is a privately held ecommerce Software company headquartered in downtown San Francisco. Semantics3 was founded in 2012 by Sivamani Varun, Vinoth Gopinathan and Govind Chandrasekhar in Singapore when they met as classmates at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

In winter 2013, they were selected for Silicon Valley based start-up incubator Y-Combinator, the first Singapore company to join the program. In November 2015 they successfully closed a $1.55 million round of bridge funding led by Belgian based venture firm E-Merge partners.

Technology

Semantics3 organizes and manages the world's largest ecommerce database tracking hundreds of millions of products sold across thousands of retailers online. It provides a suite of software and tools built on top of this database to brands, retailers, hedge funds, logistics companies and other application developers to make better decisions and grow their businesses. Companies listed as clients include Refinery29, Grainger, and Trov.
