Sau Sovanney

Sau Sovanney (Khmer: សៅ សុវណ្ណី born September 5, 1981) is a Cambodian Military officer and currently the Lieutenant General of Deputy Secretary General of National Authority of Chemical Weapons, with the responsibility of emergency response to prevent, protect, detect and mitigate.

He is the Youngest Lieutenant General in Cambodia to get Three Stars. International Relationship relating to Prohibition of Chemical, Nuclear, Biological, and Radiological Weapons. His immediate past military assignment was as Major General of the Cambodia military, and Deputy Director in charge of Chemical Warfare, futures of the Cambodia Military. Sau authored the book The Authority of the Secretary General of the National Assembly. He was conferred the title of Oknha from the King Norodom Sihanouk in 2003.

The Authority of the Secretary General of the National Assembly :is a book written by Sau that explores information on functions and powers of the General Assembly of Cambodia. The book was written as part of his Ph.D. dissertation at Kemarak University.

Biography

Sau was born in Phnom Phen on September 5, 1981. He went to high school at Norristown Area High School, graduating for Diploma and than Sau also earned Associate Degree in Science of Business Administration from Montgomery County Community College. He joined as a Soldier with Cambodia Military in 1996. Sau earned a Bachelor of Finance and Master of Economics from the Temple University, He also received his Master of Law from Chamroeun University of Poly-Technology, and a Ph.D. in Law from Khemarak University.

Sau Sovanney, is Vice-Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party Working Group for Romdoul District, Svay Rieng Province, Apart from professional military duties, he is actively involved with many social programs and he actively visits and inspects all the Pagodas projects on behalf of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akeak Moha Sena Padey Techo Hun Sen at Romdoul District Svay Rieng Province. He actively participates in lot of welfare activities and had personally visited the Svay Rieng Provincial Hospital and District Hospitals to donation of medicines and serums on behalf of Samdech Kette Prutth Bandet Bun Rany Hun Sen President of Cambodian Red Cross, Svay Rieng Province. He also actively campaigns on behalf of the Cambodian People's Party to garner new members to join the party. When he was Major General he visited schools to check the infrastructure and donated funds to build class rooms on behalf of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akeak Moha Sena Padey Techo Hun Sen at Romdoul District Svay Rieng Province. He also engages with a number of other activities to promote humanitarian activities for orphanages and handicaps.

Military service

Sau Sovanney joined the army in 1996 as a soldier. On February 2017, he became the youngest officer to get promoted to Lieutenant General. His immediate past military assignment was as Major General of the Cambodia Military, and Deputy Director in charge of Chemical Warfare, Futures of the Cambodia Military.
