Sean Soderman

Sean Soderman is an American collegiate runner at Appalachian State University and former USA Junior National Champion in the 3000 meter steeplechase. He is from Charlotte, NC with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at Appalachian State University. He has represented the United States of American in the Junior Pan American Games in Trinidad and Tobago in 2009. He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree at Appalachian State University with cross country eligibility.

High School

Soderman was coached by Justin Nauman at North Mecklenburg High School in Huntersville, NC. Soderman played soccer under Marc Calderone for 3 years. Soderman ran his first cross country race his junior year at the State Championships to help his team place in the top 15.

College

Signed with Appalachian State University in Boone, NC in 2008 under Mike Curcio. In 2009 Soderman broke the freshman all-time cross country mark for 8000 meters. He was also the 2nd freshman to finish in the Southern Conference cross country Championships.
Soderman won Junior National 3000 meter steeplechase in Eugene Oregon in June 2009. Soderman represented the United States in the Junior Pan American Games in Trinidad and Tobago in July 2009 where He took Silver behind Mattias Wolter of Canada.
Soderman has made it to two NCAA DIV 1 National Championships 1st rounds in Indianapolis IN in 2011 and Jacksonville FL in 2012.
