S.E. Michigan Mercenaries

The SE Michigan Mercenaries are a semi pro football team based out of Marine City, Michigan. The Mercenaries were founded in 2009 with the mission of giving adult athletes a chance to get back on the GRIDIRON. The team competed in the Great Lakes Football league their inaugural season and would become the league runner up, losing in the Great Lakes Football League championship game.

Although the lost in the finals was painful for the young team the first year overall was a complete success. The players and staff laid a solid foundation and showed how a football organization SHOULD be ran.

2010 meant new life for the Mercenaries as they launched their website (www.michiganmercenaries.com) and made a league switch to the Great Midwest Football League. The new league provided lesser travel for the team and had a great reputation of being a great football league. The Mercenaries also may have found a new rival in 2010 as they travel to play the Detroit Ravens for a preseason game. The Ravens have earned prestige through out semi pro football as being a very good football team, they we're national champions in 2007.

The Mercenaries consist mainly of players from St. Clair and Macomb county, with most of the players being in their early twenties. The players actually pay to play but many aspire to make it to the next level or get noticed by a professional team or college.
