Scotibank Perú

Scotiabank Perú (BVL: SCOTIAC1) is a Peruvian Bank subisidiary of the Canadian Bank of Nova Scotia, the bank is the result of the merger of Peruvian banks Weise Sudameris and Banco Sudamericano. Scotiabank Peru its headquartered in San Isidro, the Central Business District of Lima.

History

However, its presence in Peru dating from 1997, when he joined the ownership of Banco Sudamericano with a minority stake of 35%. On 9 March 2006, the Canadian group raised its stake to 100%, becoming its single largest shareholder.

As part of an strategy expansion in Latin America, the same day, March 9, 2006, Scotiabank Group also acquired 78% stake of Banco Weise Sudameris, its majority shareholder, the Italian bank Banca Intesa now Intesa Sanpaolo. In May, concretized the combination of the two intitutions into a single, resulting in ScotiaBank Peru S.A.A.

In 2008 the Scotiabank Group purchase the stock control of Scotiabank Peru from Intesa Sanpaolo. Today the bank its consolidated as third biggest finance company of Peru.

Structure

Scotiabank Peru performs all the activities of commercial banks: retail banking, corporate banking, corporate banking and investment banking.

Its national coverage through a major fisical network and one of the most complete virtual network, combined with the capacity of its staff, enables it to offer a quality service to its customers.

Today, with 165 offices nationwide, which add up to January 2010, cash correspondents 1.749 "Service Express" (commercial windows of the Bank) that are located at major retailers across the country partners and 335 ATMs.
