Scanlife
Scanlife is a mobile application and platform available on most application-enabled mobile operating systems, including iOS, Android, Blackberry OS, Symbian, and Windows. Scanlife allows consumers to interact with mobile content through the scanning of mobile barcodes. The application recognizes 2D codes (EZcode, Datamatrix, QR) and 1D UPC barcode formats and is available to dozens of mobile networks around the world, including all U.S.-based networks; it is also pre-loaded onto many new phones in Europe, North America and South America. Mobile barcode scanning allows for such actions as launching a website, initiating a phone call, loading a comma-separated value (CSV) file in address book, displaying event information in calendar, opening a pre-composed SMS, MMS or e-mail, or displaying text information.
Usage
Scanlife mobile barcodes have been used by national retailers such as GAP, The Home Depot, Sears, Target, Sprint, Verizon and Heineken.
