Sardar Fateh Muhammad Khan Karelvi

Sardar Fateh Muhammad Khan Karelvi was born into a Domaal Tribe in karela Majhan Mendhar Poonch son of Sardar Feroze Khan Domaal.He joined Poonch Police service as a Sargent but resigned due to some reasons and started to play an ACTIVE political role under the Muslim Conference jammu & Kashmir. Later on he was elected as a member of Jammu & Kashmir Assembly from Tehsil Mendhar Poonch.

During the agitation of Jammu & Kashmir, he played very active role and fought against Dogra army with Baba-e-Poonch Khansahib Col Khan Muhammad Khan and General Raja Sakhi Daler Khan Mangral and succeeded in making the area free from dogra rulers.

His son Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan became the president and the prime minister twice. His other son Sardar Naeem Khan is the minister of Jammu & Kashmir.

Master Muhammad Shafi Khan had also been serving as a teacher and taught in different schools in Mendhar Poonch for many years,even he established the first primary class at Dattot Puthochhi ( Shamsabad ). This first school is now a College. He was a well known and well-read person. Master Sardar Hafiz Khan of Gaala and Sardar Sikandar Hayyat Khan were his prominent students at Primary level and other numerous people of this area.Later on he joined the British army and fought World War 11. During the Jammu & kashmir Agitation for freedom ,he trained many people of the area as Mujahids to fight against Dogra army for freedom under the Command of Sardar Fateh Muhammad Khan Karelvi in Mendhar Poonch area.
