Glenn Weinman

Glenn Alan Weinman (born December 9, 1955 in New York, USA) is General Counsel of American Apparel Inc.

School and Career

Mr. Weinman obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1978, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California Law Center in 1981. In 2004, Mr. Weinman received a Professional Designation in Human Recourses Management from the University of California at Los Angeles. Mr. Weinman is ACTIVE in the Association of Corporate Counsel, and the Society for Human Resource Management, and he serves as a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge pro tempore.

He has experience gained as both an attorney in private practice with major national firms, such as Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, and as the General Counsel for two publicly-traded companies, Guess? Inc. and Luminent, Inc.

In his last occupation, Mr. Weinman headed up the Dongell Lawrence and Finney’s corporate and business transactions practice. His experience is both substantial and broad based. Throughout his career, Mr. Weinman has negotiated numerous mergers and acquisitions, and has regularly advised clients regarding business contract issues, employment law compliance, benefit administration, and claims management. While General Counsel, he also established legal practices and policies, intellectual property management programs, financial reporting procedures consistent with SEC requirements, managed the legal, human resources, risk management, shareholder relations, and domestic and international contractor compliance departments.

Mr. Weinman is accomplished in negotiating and documenting transactions. He regularly prepares corporate license agreements, financial agreements, confidentiality and employment agreements, and commercial lease agreements. Mr. Weinman counsels clients regarding appropriate business structures to accomplish their goals and forms entities, including partnerships, corporations, and joint ventures. Mr. Weinman has prepared private companies for public offerings, ensuring that all reporting and required procedures are completed. When necessary, Mr. Weinman negotiates and documents loan restructuring and workouts.
