Sana Khan (Zoya Khan)
Sana Khan (born 17 April), screen name Zoya Khan, is an Indian Actress, Model and Host by profession. She belongs to a Muslim pathan family in New Delhi. From Delhi she moved to Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, to do her schooling and eventually moved back to Delhi to complete her Master’s in Business Administration in Finance.
Sana Khan started her career in 2008 as a model. She has walked the ramp, did numerous commercials mostly for the print media, participated in a lot of events and later got enrolled with theater workshops. After gaining wide attention in a Delhi beauty pageant and being crowned Miss Beautiful Skin 2008, she was one of the strongest contestants, after being placed among Top 5 best contestants. She has also hosted several events, corporates, conferences, musical nights, entertainment shows, talent hunt shows, awards and championships, as an Anchor/Host. In the year 2009 she migrated to Mumbai to pursue her career in acting.
Early life
Sana Khan was born to Muslim parents of Pathan descent in New Delhi, India. Her father, L.U.Khan, is a lawyer, who is from Madhya Pradesh, India. Her parental grandfather and grandmother was originally from Afghanistan. Her mother, Nasreen Khan is originally from Delhi, who served as a mathematics teacher in a renowned Delhi school for 12 years. Sana did her schooling from Carmel Convent Sr.Sec.School, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, since her family migrated to Bhopal when she was 7. Eventually she moved back and did her graduation from Delhi University and her Master’s in business administration in finance from ICFAI, Hyderabad, in a distant learning course. She liked sports in school and college and was a inert-school basketball and badminton player. She was actively involved in college dramatics society, a painter since her school days and started writing at a young age of 20. Ever since she was a child she showed a streak to excel in extra-curricular activities and her Modeling and Acting career has the full support of her family.
Modeling career
Sana started her Modeling career in 2008, as a Model, she did her first Print assignment for FANTA which was the three days campaign shot in Delhi, but could not be released worldwide due some creative differences between the Modeling agency and the production house she shot for. Later, she did several prints for IDEA hoardings across Karnataka, Axis Bank-Mutual funds, Amrapali Ethnic wear, Juliet, Blackberry Phones, Cantabile, Airtel, Satya Paul Sarees, Avon Cycles & Bikes E-Scoot, Zaveri Jewelers, Barry & Clark-an inner-wear brand for women, NIIFT, Femina, Woman’s Era and she tremendously grabbed attention with her Delhi Govt. and Metro Bhagidarri campaign Hoardings across Delhi. Did many editorials in Delhi & Mumbai, India today Cover page, Hindustan times, Business Today Magazine, Brunch Magazine & also made news for her shows & work in Mid-day Newspaper, Delhi Times, Ahmadabad Times and Chandigarh times.
She has walked the ramp for many brands like Warner Brothers, Levis, Kazo, Nike, Sony, L'oreal, BSNL & HUWAIE collaboration, Lions Club Rajsamrat Ramp show for Charity, Spykar Jeans, NIIFT, Reebok, Nestle and for many designers.
Sana also did several commercials like Avon Cycles & E-scooty bikes for girls, Gold Museum Jewelry brand (In Marathi), Jai veer TMT rods with TV actor Mr. Ronnit Roy, ITC superia shampoo, TVC for a sky shop and UTI corporate commercial.
Events and other work
Sana has been hosting events and shows since her school days, as she was one of the best orators when she was in her twelfth grade and very much involved with co-curricular activities in her school and college. Along with graduation she started taking up events along with her modeling and grabbed Nikon Cameras corporate show in Delhi which introduced her to a medium of reaching a bigger audience. Thereby, she hosted many good brands such as, Child Fund India Charity Show- Spandan 2011, for development and protection of deprived children; LIONS CLUB CHARITY SHOW for children suffering from disease Thelesimia, GUJRAT; Continental Warehousing Corporation Shipping award Corporate Show, in Mumbai; Jagjit Singh- Live in concert; Ghulaam Ali nite; Bollywood ki Khoj- Talent Hunt show 2011, Lucknow (U.P); Ambuja Cement in Delhi, Inland automate & cogelsa corporate; Hunter Douglos- brand in window fashions; Mahindra & Mahindra Xylo car Launch; Yamaha bikes, also hosted few Travel shows and more than 75 shows since 2008.
Acting career
Sana Khan did her theatre workshops in Delhi to polish her acting skills. Thereby expanding her horizons she did few short films and documentaries back in Delhi & Mumbai. She acted in a documentary for Deenbandhu, an NGO, in Maharashtra, which portrayed the life of around 3000 poor farmers, committed [...] under the burden of huge debts. She also featured in music albums across India in Hindi and Punjabi language. She was featured as a solo female Lead in the Hindi music album sung by singer Mamta Sharma, Kumar Sanu & Kunal Ganjawala. She was recently seen in a beautiful duet song “Teri meri Jodi” in Aman Hayer's brand new music album "The Entourage". Sana Khan has also acted in a Television Serial named Bairi Pia from Balaji Telefilms.
Movies
Sana Khan is making her Bollywood Debut as lead actress in Chori Ka Maal Mori Mein which is expected to release in the first half of 2012.
