Sajjad Tafu
Sajjad Hussain Tafu Khan (born March 30, 1957), better known as Sajjad Tafu is Pakistani classical guitarist, singer, song writer, music producer and guitar teacher from Lahore, Pakistan who has worked in Pakistan's film industry for more than 4 decades. He is son of musician Ustad Tafu. Currently he works at Radio Pakistan as guitarist and composer.
Early Life & Career
Sajjad was born on March 30, 1957 in Lahore, Pakistan to Altaf Hussain Tafu He attended Regional Public School and graduated from Government College Lahore. Sajjad started his career at the age of 14 by playing guitar in a song of movie Aina. He gained popularity as a solo guitarist from the film Bandish’s song “Sona Na Chandi Na Koi Mahal Janeman”. Tafu has played music to more than 2,000 films and has given background music and composed music for TV plays also. In 2009 he joined Al Hamara Arts Council Lahore an became guitar teacher.
Awards
The Government of Pakistan awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz to Sajjad Tafu on Pakistan Day.
