BloodRockz

BloodRockz (or Bloodrocks, Arabic:بلد راكس ) is a Kashmiri Sufi Rock band that has earned a quite notable success in recent years. Formed back in 2005 by the Rhythm Guitarist Adnan Muhammad(Mohammad) Mattoo, the band rose to national fame due to their unique singing style and experimentation of Genre. After founding, the band faced many challenges but managed to release a few singles that improved the influence of the band and highlighted their name.

History

The foundation stone of the band was laid by three friends Adnan Muhammad(Lead Guitarist), Suhaib Mahajan(Former Guitarist), Shiekh Rahil Saleem(Vocals). Adnan being highly motivated by the Pakistani Rock band Jal, decided to pursue music seriously. His ideas brightened when he met Suhaib Hussain who had the same thought and they both began to work out the ways of establishing the band. But it was not until they met Rahil, the trio decided to create a band on their own. The band was originally named Boxter but was changed to BloodRockz soon after Adnan realised that the name defined the nature and class of band. Initially Adnan decided to play vocals while Rahil would be rhythm guitarist and Suhaib playing the lead, but Adnan switched places with Rahil when he felt that Rahil was better on vocals. After a lot of practicing the band finally got a chance to perform at a show that marked the beginning. But Suhaib and another member Kamran left the band shortly after their first show, which let down the band completely.
But somehow Rahil and Adnan managed to restart the band after sometime and introduced Younus Ahmed who joined as lead guitarist to the band. This time the band started writing and composing their own songs. The songs were generally themed upon love, religion and on the unrest going on in valley. The band created their first single Yeh Kaisi Aazadi which earned them huge success and helped elevate the band to one of the best rock bands in the valley. After releasing their first single, the band performed many stage shows including shows in University of Kashmir and with Saim Bhatt that further improved the influence of band and brought out their creativity.

Creations

After the reform of band, the band worked vigorously to create their own compositions. Though the band ran short of finance and instruments, it was able to create few singles. Their first single's(Yeh Kaisi Aazadi ) success encouraged the band to work out further and create a few more singles. The following singles were released by the band after their reformation:

Performances and Progress

After their reform, the band has performed many stage shows. The band won a rock show Battle of bands held in Kashmir that listed them among the best bands of Kashmir. BloodRockz also received a good response from users on Reverbnation.Besides this the performed shows at Jammu, New Delhi, Dehradun and Goa.
BloodRockz was invited by CRPF, Kashmir Division in Badami Bagh to perform a stage show. The band was also interviewed on BIG FM and BBC Radio recently.

Members

After their start in 2005, the band has faced extensive lineup change since. Nearly every member in the has replaced except Adnan and Rahil who remain to be the permanent members of the band.
