AbOUT the school

Saint Luke's was founded in 1990 as a school for boys and girls aged between 4 and 7 years old. The headmaster was Mr. Henry James Duckland and there were a total of 60 pupils. The origional uniform was a green jumper with a white polo-shirt and black trousers or a black skirt. The second head arrived in 1994 she was called Mrs. Helen Jackson she changed the uniform to navy blue (the reason is unknown) and was preceded by the deputy head, Mr. Edward Kingsley, in 2000. He was only ment to be the head for 1 year but ended up staying until 2005. He was the school's most successful head of the day for whilst he was there the school was awarded a prize in safety which was awarded to Ebony Jones the oldest pupil in school at that time. In 2003 the Nursery department was founded and a total of 20 2-4 year olds flooded into the school. Although the school name changed to Saint Luke's Infant and Nursery School the old Saint Luke's School emblem is still worn to this day. In 2004 a local primary school closed and the numbers rose as Saint Luke's became the nearest school for a lot more parents and children. By 2005 there were a total of 110 2-7 year olds on roll. The head change again to Mr. David Corran and the school was awarded 20 free laptops. With Mr. Corran the we saw the uniform change yet again to a royal blue. In September 2008 the school celebrated its 18th birthday. The head changed again and is currently Miss. Nikita Jones. The number of pupils on roll is 150 2-7 year olds and small class sizes of 14/15.
