Sacred music society
The Sacred Music Society was started in 1996 by Maestro Uwe Lieflaender of Regensburg, Germany. The Sacred Music Society brings religious music to Churches & institutions. The Sacred Music Society began in Ontario, Canada. Its motto is "Soli Dei Gloria"; for the glory of God alone. The Sacred Music Society (SMS), founders of the World Youth Day 2002 Choir is a world renowned performing arts and educational institution serving a variety of individuals. With the MusicAL heritage of traditional Sacred Music, the Sacred Music Society has an artistic repertoire ranging from Gregorian Chant through classical music to contemporary compositions, and specially commissioned works by gifted composers. The Sacred Music Society is a fully incorporated, not-for-profit choir organization. We seek to preserve and nurture classical sacred music by providing musical education programs for children, youth and adults and with performance of these marvellous choral orchestral works in both concert and in the liturgical setting. SPARROWS is the children's choirs associated with the SMS. It has operated in various schools such as: Wayside Academy (Peterborough, ON), Don Bosco Separate School (Barry's Bay, ON), St. Timothy's (Ottawa, ON), Maryvale Academy (Barry's Bay, ON) and others. It brings children to Church to sing in choirs for Masses & other services. Sparrows teaches children musical techniques such as singing, clapping & music history.
