Room 8 Studio is a UK video game developer. The company was founded in 2012 as a mobile game development studio. The company is best known for creating the Cyto's Puzzle Adventurevideo game''.

Company history

Room 8 Studio was founded in spring 2012 with a goal to create high-quality mobile games. Later it was funded by Vostok Ventures and began its growth. As of 2013, there is around 70 employees.

First game developed by Room 8 Studio, Cyto's Puzzle Adventure, was published by Chillingo on 21 February 2013.

In July 2013 their second game, Riot Runners, made its softlaunch on Canadian and German App Stores. The game is scheduled to be released globally in December 2013.

In August 2013 the third project of Room 8 was announced on various forums. Prometheus is a 3D platformer based on a story of Prometheus, the Greek mythology titan, who defies the gods and gives fire to humanity.

In December 2013 the company released their previous project Cyto's Puzzle Adventure on the Android platform.

With Vostok Ventures investments, the company has grown up to 70 employees and had to implement a solid company structure that solved all the development problems right away rather than created new ones. Right after the studio was found in 2012, Room 8 started and successfully established an agile software development framework, particularly Scrum.

On a base of Room 8 studio, there is a Game Design School for video game enthusiasts. It helps new and experienced game designers to increase their qualification. There is a Game Design School in Room 8 that helps new and experienced game designers to increase their qualification.

Room 8 Studio is a member of IGDA.

Also, the company is a sponsor for various gaming conferences including FlashGamm , DevGamm, Sociality Rocks and Next Castle.
