Ronx Ikharia

Ronx Ikaria (born May 1984), known professionally as Dr Ronx, is a British emergency medicine doctor, television presenter, and activist. They are best known for co-presenting the CBBC medical series Operation Ouch! and for their work advocating for young people and LGBTQ+ visibility.

Early life

Ronx Ikharia was born in May 1984 in London, England. They grew up in Hackney and have spoken publicly about experiencing financial hardship during their youth. Ikharia left home as a teenager and supported themself through a variety of jobs while completing their education. They later attended medical school, funding their studies independently. Their experiences growing up in Hackney have influenced their commitment to youth advocacy and representation.

Career

Ikharia trained as an emergency medicine doctor and has worked within the National Health Service in London. Their clinical work focuses on emergency and urgent care, and they have been active in promoting equitable access to healthcare for young people and marginalised communities.

In addition to their medical career, Ikharia was approached by a television commissioner while working in Hackney, which led to their role as a presenter on the CBBC medical series Operation Ouch!.
