History

The entertainment company Rockerrazzi was first founded in Beverly Hills, California by Jared Sagal. A musician, manager, record producer, and film director, Sagal is also a former NCAA Division 1 soccer player who had played pro for years in Germany and Sweden. He founded the website Rockerrazzi.com in October 2008, beginning to interview notable musicians about their music. Several months later, in January 2009 he founded Jared Sagal Music, an imprint for releasing his own singer-songwriter material. He co-founded Rockerrazzi in March 2009 along with Cathy Sagal, and they segmented the company into several divisions. Their catchline is "Rockerrazzi - the most compelling visual content for bands and brands."

The married couple continue to run the company, with Cathy leading the film prop and editing divisions. While continuing to do celebrity InterViews, in 2010 Jarad Sagal began hosting the Rockerrazzi Report on 987fm.com, holding a weekend slot' and leading 98.7's music video division. In April 2010 he became an on-air host and journalist for The Nikki Sixx Sideshow Countdown, working alongside Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue. Also in 2010, Chris Cassidy of the Grammy Foundation contacted Sagal to have Rockerrazzi handle various Grammy live interviews and Red Carpet events.

As of 2013 regular Rockerrazzi material was being released for the bands Galvanized Souls, Dead Sara, and The Last Internationale. As of 2014 they are working with the Interscope Records artist The Eeries on a visual brand campaign.

Divisions

Rockerrazzi has multiple divisions, including artist development, advertising, a production studio and record label, and a film studio. Division names include Rockerrazzi Filmz, Rockerrazzi Dezine, Rockerrazzi Recordz, Rockerrazzi Muzic, and Artist Performance. There is also Rockerrazi Streetz, or "celebrity street reporting." According to the Rockerrazzi website, the latter division is "about being respectful and insightful rather than sensational and intrusive." As an interviewer for Rockerrazzi.com, Sagal has interviewed artists such as Ben Harper in 2010, Billy Corgan in 2010, and The Dirty Heads when they performed at The Viper Room. Others interviewed artists include Nikki Sixx, Mumford and Sons, Imagine Dragons and Dave Grohl.

Rockerrazzi Records

Rockerrazzi Records (sometimes spelled as Rockerrazzi Recordz) was founded in 2008, primarily as a means to release Sagal's solo material. He released his album Wilted Flowers on the label on February 7, 2012, followed by Rockerrazzi on July 17, 2013. He soon signed the California post-grunge band Galvanized Souls as well, releasing their debut album Galvanized Souls in 2013, as well as all their singles for the following year.
