Robbie Gold (musician)
Rob Massie Goldberg (born August 16, 1985) is an American acoustic/alternative/pop singer-songwriter.
Biography
Early Career
Born in Highland Park, Illinois, Robbie's passion for music was influenced at an early age by plays and Disney films, however he did not begin playing guitar until his junior year of high school. While attending Indiana University, Robbie auditioned for Hanson's opening act contest during their "Live and Electric" tour. Robbie was ultimately chosen and opened for the band on November 14 2005. In regards to opening for Hanson Robbie stated, In addition to Hanson, Robbie also opened for Pat McGee Band in 2005.
Upon graduating from Indiana University in May 2008 Robbie began playing local show's in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs, and continued recording material at Chicago-based JBTV. Throughout 2009, Robbie has continued to play countless shows, opened for Chicago veteran Paris Delane at Chicago's legendary Morse Theatre, and was featured in a documentary. The Robbie Gold Band
After performing numerous shows with good friend actor/musician Kevin Clark and Blake Dermer, Robbie began to consider starting his own band. The Robbie Gold Band was formed in early 2009 with Kevin Clark (percussion), Blake Dermer (guitar), Matt Cushing (bass), and Jenna Lee (vocals). The band's first performance, advertised as Robbie Gold & Friends, was on March 28 2009 at La Costa Theatre in Chicago, IL.
The Robbie Gold Band has been touring the greater Chicagoland area throughout 2009 including Bridie McKenna’s in suburban Highwood, Lincolnshire Gourmet in Highland Park, and Goose Island in Chicago. The band recently expanded their touring schedule to The Music Mill, in Indianapolis, IN and is scheduled to record their first album in 2009.
